The former president's Family Member Gets Expert Guidance from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance

Young golfer preparing for significant tournament

Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent backers as she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.

The former president, an avid golfer, possesses several courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have competitive games," she revealed.

The golfer shared that her grandfather, unable to come, told her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"My grandpa essentially told me to play and relax," she explained.

"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."

While still amateur, Kai has played in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has the 461st position in AJGA standings.

But she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.

"He stands as the top athlete in the world," Kai expressed.

"Additionally, he's an even better individual. He told me to play, enjoy myself, following whatever happens."

She'll challenge some of top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, including world number two the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

The LPGA mentioned that her participation helps introduce golf to different demographics, specifically among younger fans.

The young star has a massive following and just introduced a personal apparel and wellness label.

The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
