Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a title is really nice," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
His defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an better serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to force a final set.
He defended 4 early break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
